    Dear Tim,
On December 10th 2009, I carried with me a sign to the ESPNU Home Depot College Football Awards Show as I had the previous two years. The only thing that differed was that this year’s sign displayed the verse 1Timothy 4:12 – “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” This verse seemed as if it found me, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. As I read the words to myself I thought, “This is the influence that Tim has had on my life; he has indirectly encouraged me to do just what this verse states through leading by example.” I cannot forget to mention the irony that this verse resides in one of the two books of Timothy =) . As the pre-show began, I waited as patiently as I could for you to walk down the red carpet and greet the anxious fans. When you first caught my sight, I spotted a beautiful girl on your arm that appeared to be of a similar age as myself. As I later learned of Kelly’s story during one of your interviews with the media in attendance, my heart swelled in my chest and I was overcome with a sense of joy for being able to witness that moment.
Despite hearing of all of your community service, compelling character, love for Christ, and compassion for others, that moment defined my perception of you. To be able to directly see the kindness in your heart for others is what I’ll miss after you depart from the University of Florida and leave me and my fellow students. While the winning moments of Gator football certainly positively affect my college experience at UF, the fact that I was able to see firsthand the compassion that you exude for others outside of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is what made my freshman and sophomore years at the University of Florida.
It is an honor in itself to be able to say that I am a student at the University of Florida solely because I know that that is something that I have been able to share with you and the rest of the outstanding student athletes. The influence that you have had over me as a person has urged me to want to become a better person and strengthen my relationship with Christ. While your talent for the game cannot be overlooked, your compassion for other people and love for Christ is what inspires me as a student daily in all aspects of my life. It is these intangibles that I am truly grateful for and owe you the utmost amount of thanks. So thank you Tim for all that you have done for this university, student body, and the Gator Nation. Thank you for making “Tebow encounters” on campus the highlight of my day. Thank you for showing kindness to all of us. Thank you for being the great young man that you are and strive to be. I wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavors, both personal and professional and will be watching when you take the field as an NFL quarterback. Once again, thank YOU and God Bless YOU!
    Love,
    Keri Mongelluzzo

    Timmy,
Thank you so much for everything! You’ve had such a positive influence on so many people through your actions like speaking in prisons, going on mission trips to the Phillipines, setting a great example, not being shy about your faith in God, leading the Gators in the four wonderful years you spent at the University of Florida and so much more. It has been an honor attending UF with you.
I want you to know that you have not only changed the lives of people who did not have God in their life, but you have also made people, like myself, want to grow in their relationship with the Lord because of how close you are with Him. People see your relationship with God and realize that they too can be as close with Him.
Thank you so much for being the epitome of a great Gator!
My thoughts and prayers are with you wherever your path may lead.
    God bless!

    Tim,

Thank you so much for all you have done not only for Florida fans and students but for people around the world. You’re espousal of Christian values and actions both on and off the field is one that will not soon be matched by an athlete of your caliber.

I am a member of the Class of 2010 and have been moving through UF year for year with you and I will never be able to thank you enough for the memories and successes you have given me at Florida. Best of luck in life and I’ll be watching you guys in the Sugar Bowl tonight!

Someone else on here wrote how fortunate Florida was that you picked us – and I couldn’t agree more. To have the most celebrated college athlete in history lead our team to unprecedented heights is something the Gator Nation will always have. You and your squad are truly legendary, and we will always have that to look back on and continue to honor. What you and the team attempted to do this year would have transcended the term ‘historic’, and although sadly it wasn’t meant to be – you should ALL know just how inspirational the act of reaching for such a lofty goal has been to myself and many others. Tim, you have my admiration, and you ALL have my thanks! Go Gators!!

    Dear Timmy,
You have been such an inspirational leader these past four years. There’s not enough words that can describe how proud the Gator Nation is for having you as a QB. Thank you for all of your hard work on and off the field. Thank you for being more than just a football player; but thank you for winning all those games as well! Thank you for playing with such great passion. My prayer is that you will continue to serve God with all of your heart. Never lose sight of your hopes and dreams. Go after what you love and stay firm on your morals and values. You are such an amazing guy and I wish you the best! Read Proverbs 41:10 when you get the chance, I’m sure it will bring you encouragement when you most need it.

    GO GATORS!!
