Please never think you’ve let down the Gator Nation. Never think anything less than perfect went amiss because of you. If anything, you’ve shown Gator Nation the potential it has and brought the football program back to its glory days. A few losses could never tarnish how we think of you. And even if the championships weren’t won, and the trophies weren’t earned, you’d still be highly adored and admired. Timmy, you aren’t just an incredible football player, but an incredible person with a gleaming gold heart. Thank-you for giving everything you’ve got in every game and leaving it all on the field, but most importantly, thank-you for being true to who you are and being proud of it. God’s really going to bless you. You’ve made me realize I have to be firm in my faith with the Lord and not to be afraid to show it. You’ll be missed incredibly. Thank you for daring to stand up for what you believe in such cynical times. Thank you for bringing example and leadership on the field and off of it. Thank you for not separating your life into different spheres, and not having different values in each of them. You are an outstanding player, as well as an outstanding humanitarian. I can’t thank you enough for not only the best four football seasons I could have ever imagined, but more importantly the inspiration you have brought to our campus. You have been such an amazing role model for all those who watch you and a great ambassador for Christ. At first it seemed odd to me that my friends would get nervous at the sight of you. I didnt understand, i had so much respect for you on the field and knew you were a great player.. but the idolatry seemed weird. Then your philanthropic ways and your kind, pure words began to sink in, and of course the AMAZING football games just kept coming … I am a die-hard Florida football fan, but never in 20 years have i found myself at a loss for words. At the championship celebration last year when you announced you’d return for your senior season, I… was at a loss for words. I found myself overcome and with tears in my eyes because superman would be back! That meant a chance to walk past you on campus and feel that giddy excitement people explained they felt in your presence and another chance to prove to the world that Tim Tebow is the greatest college football player to step foot on the field and to prove that Florida Football is a team to be feared. I realized Timmy, you’re my hero. You are the most kind hearted person I have ever had the pleasure to meet. My time at the University of Florida would not have been half of what it was without your amazing ability to shine and without your contribution to our football program.
Two days before the SEC game I finally ran into you and got a shirt that’s now framed signed. The two minutes walking along side you where you laughed that i was shaking and couldn’t say much but thank you solidified that you were not only a role model but you were mine!
