Dear Tebow: I have been a Gator since 1967….got all my degrees at UF. I never left Gainesville and always attend the football games. I have enjoyed and loved a lot of previous players and past seasons….but you have not only brought the greatest four years to the university of Florida but have been a greatest leader outside the field bringing hope to young people in need. I have spent 43 years in education and just retired and I tell you we need more young man like you. You show us daily that a man can be good at many things. You have used your gift of being probably the best football player ever in college football, not only for winning in the field, but for winning the hearts of all that get to know you regardless of age. When I decided to come to UF, I had no idea who you were or that the football team was so legendary. On move-in day that all changed, that day I became a football fan. I’m not a sports person so I never understand or paid attention to the game. I saw the first game against Hawaii last season and I was sold. Now I yell and scream with the best of them. Thank you for leading us to a National Championship last season and bringing us as far as you did this season. Congratulations on your impending graduation and good luck on your future endeavors. It still amazes me to this day that with the power of just one person, one can change thousands of lives. Most of us believe that anything we do is not enough, since after all, “I am just one person among many”. You have proved what matters most is the fight in us to continue.
