I remember watching your press conference as a student and feeling proud to be a Gator when you chose the University of Florida. Little did I know how much that pride would grow over your four years. What you did on the field was amazing and so much fun to watch. But more importantly, the example you set as a human being, not only for children that look up to you but for adults as well has had a great impact on my life, and I’m sure many others. Thanks so much for being a voice of light in the self-centered world of sports. It truly is great to be a Florida Gator and you’re a big reason why.

My daughter will graduate Spring 2010 from UF and she and our family have appreciated all of the joy that you and the Gator football team and coaching staff have brought to all of us. Thanks for all the memories I have of watching you. Not only were you an excellent football player, but also a caring, modest person. (The list of positive adjectives could go on forever) You are such an inspiration to everyone. You treated every team with respect even if it ended with a loss. When I look back at my freshman and sophomore year, I will think of you and the experiences I had at the games and watching them with friends and family. I absolutely hated football before I got to UF. I didn’t understand what all the hype was about until I watched my first game in the Swamp. The passion and excitement surrounding football at this school is infectious, and a lot of that is due to you. As an outstanding player, student, and role model, you have shown me why football is worth getting excited about. Your pure love of the game and goodwill toward your opponents has transcended the terms of normal competition; you demonstrate through your own example how powerful it can be to simply offer a hand to a man on the ground, whether he’s on your team or not. I met you the other day at Cold Stone and I know I’ve already told you how admirable I think you are, but I figured once more couldn’t hurt. I’ve watched you play out on that field the past four years and each game is has been great, win or lose. I’ve watched you put your heart into everything you do, on and off the field and have truly been inspired by you. I guess I just wanted to say thanks for the impact you’ve had on my life, you make me want to be a better person. I have now made it my mission to take the gifts that G-d has given me and use them to help the lives of others for the better.

Hi Timmy, It was my thrill when I finally got to pat you on the back(literally) after the Vanderbilt game. You have been such an inspiration to so many, you truly are the closest thing to a hero we have these days.
